Manufacturing/Industrial & engineered products

Salesforce for industrial manufacturers.

Ignyto implements Salesforce Sales Cloud, Revenue Cloud (CPQ), Service Cloud and ERP integration for industrial manufacturers, engineered product businesses and heavy equipment distributors across the UK, Ireland and Europe — where the quote is the product of an engineering conversation, and the CRM is judged on whether the order reaches the ERP intact. The end state is an engineered order reaching the ERP intact, with the specification it was sold on still attached.

01 — The problem

The quote takes three days and lives in a spreadsheet.

Engineered products are configured, not picked from a list. Options, materials, lead times and volume pricing all interact, so quoting is done in a spreadsheet by whoever knows the product best, and margin depends on that person’s memory.

Downstream the same problem repeats. The order is rekeyed into the ERP, delivery dates are chased by phone, and nobody can report on win rates by product, region or reason lost because the data was never structured to answer that.

Ignyto has delivered this for XCMG UK, replacing a legacy ERP, a previous CRM, spreadsheets and PDF document production; for Dura Composites with Sales Cloud and Revenue Cloud; and for Analox Group, where lead capture, conversion, assignment and opportunity management all needed rebuilding for a busy sales environment.

02 — What Ignyto builds

Built for configured products and real order flow.

01

Configured quoting with CPQ

Revenue Cloud configured for options, materials, volume tiers and lead times, with discount approval routing so margin is governed rather than defended after the fact. Delivered for Dura Composites.

02

Document generation

Quotes, specifications and order confirmations generated from the record. XCMG UK use PDF Butler; MDL use S-Docs with a custom-built vehicle ordering process.

03

ERP and finance integration

Orders, invoices, stock and delivery status flowing between Salesforce and the ERP, so data is entered once. OS Doors integrate Sage; STATSports have a custom Microsoft Navision integration bringing accounts, orders, contracts, invoices and assets into Salesforce.

04

Lead capture and assignment

Enquiries entering Salesforce automatically from the website and assigned by territory or product, with conversion tracked. Rebuilt for Analox Group for a busy sales environment.

05

Distributor and dealer management

Partner pipeline visibility, dealer portals and territory management for businesses selling through a channel rather than direct.

06

Reporting that answers the board

Win rates by product, region and reason lost, pipeline by stage, and forecasting built on a data model designed to be reported on rather than exported.

04 — Common questions

Asked in every manufacturing conversation.

Do we need CPQ or is Sales Cloud enough?

If quoting involves options, materials, volume tiers or approval thresholds, CPQ pays for itself in margin control and quote turnaround. If you sell a short list at list price, Sales Cloud with good product records is enough. Ignyto will say which applies to your product.

Can Salesforce integrate with our ERP?

Yes, and it usually must. Ignyto has integrated Salesforce with Sage for OS Doors and built a custom Microsoft Navision integration for STATSports carrying accounts, contacts, orders, contracts, invoices and assets. Integration is normally the largest single variable in a manufacturing scope.

What about replacing an old CRM and ERP at the same time?

It is possible but should be sequenced. XCMG UK moved off a legacy ERP, a previous CRM and spreadsheets, with document generation replacing manual PDF production. Ignyto phases that work so the commercial process lands before the systems is fully rebuilt.

Can we generate quotes and order documents automatically?

Yes. Ignyto has delivered PDF Butler for XCMG UK and S-Docs with a custom vehicle ordering process for MDL. Documents are produced from the record, which removes rekeying and version confusion.

How long does a manufacturing implementation take?

A focused Sales Cloud and quoting implementation can be possible in as little as eight weeks, though that depends on complexity and your team’s availability. Adding CPQ, ERP integration and document generation extends it. Ignyto scopes as user stories with effort against each, so the timeline is built from the work.
