8 Tips for Salesforce Training and Training Resource Management

In today's digital age, we have a wealth of Salesforce training and learning resources at our fingertips. From blogs and webinars to videos and infographics, a quick Google search can connect you with endless sources of knowledge. Internal resources like meeting recordings, slide decks, and Slack messages can offer valuable insights. However, finding your needed resources can take time and effort with so much information available.

This blog will share our top five tips to help you and your team quickly discover the right answers and resources amidst the noise.

1. Get buy-in from leadership

Informed and supportive leaders can help you to promote your new resources and processes and break through the noise. Take time to understand their pain point, needs and requirements in terms of training and training resources management. Doing so at an early stage will help to ensure your solutions meet teams needs and will be eagerly anticipated

2. Create & Curate

A structured knowledge base can help you document processes, FAQs, and learnings. Consider using Salesforce Knowledge or Quip for a more advanced solution.Take the time to link directly to a resource. You can share a specific trailhead module by copying the URL or create your own Trailmix. YouTube gives you three options to share a video at a specific time.

3. Give context

Use real world examples to give context, this will help to explain the why behind what they are doing and the value of doing so.

4. Put it in context.

It's essential to focus on the how, but don't forget the why. Why does this matter? Why is it important? Give context to your solutions. Give scenarios, use cases, and examples.

5. Highlight resources and answers.

Once you have a valuable resource, answer, or insight, you must promote it. A great example of this is the Trailblazer Tribune , but you can also keep it simple by using bullet points and emojis ( 馃敟 ) to post resource highlights on Slack or chatter. Emojis can also help to highlight Slack or Microsoft Teams' comments that provide valuable answers or insights to questions.

6.Measure adoption and get feedback

What is not measured, cannot be improved. Set agreed key performance indicators for your content, this could be as simple counting views or shares for your resources. You can also look for feedback via comments or set up a google form to help make improvements and updates.

7.Incentivise

Create some excitement around your new resources, create challenges to win a team lunch or tickets to the cinema. The early stages of a launch are critical to success of adoption so building excitement and buy in will be key

8. Create knowledge champions.

Find members of your team that are passionate about and have expertise on a particular topic. Task them with keeping resources up-to-date and relevant. Resources can quickly become outdated as features are updated and trends and best practices change.

Summary

Cutting through the "resource noise" can be a challenge. Taking the time to implement even just one of these tips will help your teams quickly find the answers, resources, and insights they need to do their jobs efficiently and effectively.
